Annual Juneteenth Scholarship Program

We are glad you have decided to apply for this year’s scholarship award. Our organization seeks to encourage young African-Americans to continue their education by offering financial assistance in their first year of college. We are looking for poised individuals who display academic excellence, leadership quality, and community involvement.

How Do I Apply?
Step 1:Do you qualify?

Are you African-American currently in the 12th grade seeking to obtain a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university?

Do you have an accumulative Grade Point Average of 2.5 or higher?

Are you active in both school and community?

Step 2:Scholarship requirements

The Overall Scholarship Award is determined and evaluated by an independent panel based on the following factors. Every effort is made to keep participants identity and scores anonymous.

3. Two Letters of Recommendation (LOR):

  • One from a School Official

  • One from a Community Leader

Step 4: Contact and Follow-up

If Selected: BOFA will reach out to you for a social gathering and informational meeting in January 2025.

Additional information: At the meeting, you will receive details about the Annual Scholarship Breakfast, tickets, and the Souvenir Ad Book.

Souvenir Ad Sales: Each participant is expected to sell $500.00 worth of ads..

Scholarship Reward: The final scholarship award amounts for each participant will range from $250.00 to $1,000.00 dollars.

Overall Scholarship winner: One participant will be selected as the Overall Scholarship Winner based on the scholarship requirements.
